Here I come…? Who knows at the moment, however with Curtin University saying Ahyes that’s one step closer to getting to Ryerson. However now the wait to get into Ryerson begins, not sure how long the wait is or if we can still be knocked out at this point, but I really hope that it all go’s well. Now must look into flights, VISA’s, money, accommodation (boz has sorted this...
Study week
So Graphic Design brief 1 is down as of monday…but now I feel a slight lack of motivation to get more work done. Deadlines are very effective for me, even if I do the work the night / morning before its due! Design Management is such an interesting concept but I once again seem to lack the motivation to type an whole essay on it, but hopefully that will change when I get some more words to...
Newton Faulkner @ Blues ‘N’ Roots Festival, 2010. Went with Jaqina and met up with Lucas and co. Good times had by all however much pain gained from standing for 5 hours straight just to be at the very front while John Butler Trio and Crowded House played; well worth it tho! Shirts bought and music being downloaded…hehehe!
Side note - feeling much better after Thursday night,...

– Oma Desala I love this quote…and I guess this is what my hopes of my life have been, but recently I’ve felt so much need to change who I am and what I would like to be. I seem to revert back to default which is someone I would like to move beyond.
If you are seeking an absolute truth you will not find it…only truth that...

Ian.

Priorities
My priorities in life have always been to be bigger and better; always improve; always faster….but lately I have been considering this and where it has led me. I tend to shy away from socialising and in its place I put study or my hobbies. If I’m not studying I’m painting or designing or drawing with the propose of being better then its predecessor. But in reality who will see...
Ryerson?
Here I come….maybe =P Froms are getting filled in and meeting this afternoon…highly recommended to head to Canada by head staff has me confused! Bagging there own grad show was something I was not expecting but oh well!

Pen & Paper
I’m testing out a new way of working on my projects, espessially the ideation stages. I am attempting to keep as much work on pen and paper as posiable before moving into the design into the computer. I feel that the computer adds so many options that you loose what is the essence of the designs and who it is for. So far my idea has worked great! All my work for Graphic Design is looking...
Briefs, briefs and more briefs!
Design Photography Specialism - 5 briefs
Visual Communication Practice - 4 briefs
Design Management - 1 brief
Graphic Design - 1 brief
Something about 3rd year design has the unit coordinators and tutors loving self directed projects and student created briefs! More individuality can be instilled into each project though which is something which I like a great deal, however sometimes you just...
Stop giving me such beautiful images upon which to paint and plan my own photoshoots graffiti research! (but these images are truly amazing!)
Photography 391
Is it what I was expecting?
Yes and no! I was expecting the vast amount more work we have to do and the added meaning that each photograph must have. Trigg appears to relish meaning, or more so the process of exploring an image to the point where the ‘truth’ or the hidden meaning is exposed and he then understands. I also find this process very interesting, however adding clearly...
Mending & Uni
My feelings towards my previous decision regarding to exchange are still the same - massive loss of my own construction. However after much discussion and comments (thanks Tom & Angi) it would appear not to be the end of the world! What brings me some comfort is the fact that a lovely girl from heath science has taken my place as an exchange student, so the opportunity was not lost entirely.

My big mistake...?
I can’t help but think that I have made one of the biggest mistakes of my life in not accepting this scholarship & exchange program…how could you say no to such an opportunity? what have I done…
Exchange
Last night I received the email I was hoping for…well in a way. My application to study in second semester at Middlesex University in England was accepted! However I have decided to decline this scholarship in favour of staying in Perth and at Curtin University till the end of 2010. Several things have swayed my thinking on this but mostly is the fact that I am comfortable in Perth and with...
University: day 4
I never expected to have been given so much reading in 3rd year! I was expecting practical work to be flowing out my ears by the end of the day 1…but I suppose this is far more preferable! Photography would seem to be the killer unit of this semester; 5 projects, well technically 6 projects in 11 weeks! Now that’s going to be a rush but I’m confident I can succeed. As for now, I...

Note to self: don’t get conquered…have more confidences in myself and my ability without needing the constant support of others.

University: day 1
Third year design commenced today with my first class being Graphics. And after being in the class and hearing what we will be doing I left with being somewhat relieved. I was expecting 10 projects; 1 per week. But we only have 4 projects with a respectable 3 weeks to complete each in. Next was Visual Communication Practice and that classroom was hot…dam hot! So much so that any info...
